2002 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP supercharged 2-door coupe. This is the 40th Anniversary Edition. It has the supercharged 3.8 liter V6 and 4-speed automatic transmission. Straight body, good paint, decent interior. There are no leaks underneath. There are no cracks in the windshield. It has clean fluids. The air conditioning blows cold and the heater works fine. Everything works.
Options: Cruise control. Power mirrors, door locks, windows, and driver's seat. Heated driver's seat. Digital fuel mileage display. Nice Bose factory stereo with 6 speakers. Heads-up display. Onstar. Traction control and ABS. Hood scoops and rear spoiler. Fog lights. Power sunroof. Power trunk release. Nice factory wheels. Of course it has power steering and 4-wheel power disc brakes.
Performance modifications: Performance 2.5" diameter exhaust system. Fenderwell cold air intake with K&N filter. Shift kit. Performance-tuned computer. New front supercharger housing, bearing, coupler, pulley, belt, and supercharger oil. It has a 3.4" supercharger pulley, giving the car 10 psi of boost. 300 flywheel horsepower at 5500 rpm. THIS CAR IS FASTER THAN MY V8 1965 NOVA SS. The computer tune included removing the speed governer, raising the rev limiter, allowing the engine to run cooler at 180 degrees, a richer fuel mixture, and quicker downshifts. It has a 180 degree thermostat and cooler temperature spark plugs to prevent knocking during boost. Due to the performance computer tune, it would sometimes turn on the check engine light with a rich mixture code. I got tired of seeing the light go on and off, so I installed a check engine light cutout switch next to the computer box. There are no other trouble codes in the computer. Also due to the performance tune, the car will sometimes fluctuate the idle speed slightly at a stop, only when the engine is cold. This is no big deal and will stop after giving the throttle a slight rev. The idle speed is always normal after the engine is fully warmed up. The catalytic converter and rear oxygen sensor have been deleted, so the car will not currently pass an emissions test. I will include the catalytic converter and rear oxygen sensor with the sale of the car at no extra charge, if desired. Welding and fabrication to reinstall the converter in the performance exhaust system will be the buyer's responsibility.
The car has a clear (no lien) Montana title. It DOES have a rebuilt title, NOT a salvage title. One of the previous owners hit a deer in Minnesota and it went under the car. The hood and front bumper were replaced, and when I replaced the stock exhaust system I noted that it had various dings and scratches on it. I think the previous owner's insurance company flaked out and refused to cover the damage, therefore the car was issued a rebuilt title after it was repaired out-of-pocket. A car must pass a state safety inspection in order to be issued a rebuilt title. I saw no evidence of any catastrophic collision or the vehicle being put on a frame straightener or having any suspension components replaced. The car does not pull at all, it runs straight and true down the road.
I have tried to represent this vehicle as honestly and thoroughly as possible. I'm selling it to raise money for my next car project. If you have any questions, please message me through Ebay and I will be happy to answer them. I require a $500 deposit in my Paypal account within 24 hours of a buyer purchasing this vehicle, and the balance of the money within 7 days of purchase. My preferred method of payment and title transfer is for you to come in person, test drive the car, and pay in cash in exchange for the car and title. If you wish to buy the car and have it shipped to you, the shipping cost is your responsibility. If you are having the car shipped we will need to agree on either a wire transfer, cashier's check, or an escrow service to pay the balance of the car price. I may consider PayPal for full payment, although the fees are high. I will not give out my bank account number to private parties for a direct wire transfer. If you wish to pay with a cashier's check, please note that I will not allow the car to leave my possession until the check clears my bank. I will not accept cashier's checks for amounts greater than the car price, nor will I accept personal or business checks.
I'm willing to work with someone a little on the price, but won't accept lowball offers.
Thanks for looking!
